Help! I'm Tired And I Want To Sit Down!

We started off fine..

The shopping marathon started at 11pm, or actually 11.15pm since I was late =P. Anyway, it started at Bugis with SL, MM and Sam and ended at 8 pm at Paragon, Orchard with the very patient MM.

We started at Bugis and proceeded to go to the most popular shops first, Topshop, Dorothy Perkins and Miss Selfridge. Nice dresses, esp at Miss Selfridge but nobody bought anything. I guess it is because it was too early to make a decision. Nothing at Waipai or G2000 either. On to Seiyu.

Next Stop, Seiyu

Seiyu is actually a pretty ok place to shop, really. They have alot of labels, I think, and that's why I wanted to go to Bugis in the first place. However, no one bought anything there either. I tried a Yen lavender halter top and matching lavender skirt. THought it was okay looking, didn't make me look too skinny or anything, but Sl said it made me look skinny, especially my calfs (or calves, but it sounds like calves is for baby lambs, uh..). Actually come to think of it, it does make it look v skinny. Wow, I have skinny calfs. That's new haha. Wanted MM to come over to ask for opinion, not that I don't trust SL, but MM can be brutally honest, so it's good. But waited for long time so decided to change back.

We saw alot of dresses and even more SL dress imitations. Haha.. she kept saying how it looks like her dress. But she got it cheaper, sigh, so lucky when you haev already bought your dress and don't have to worry every 3 seconds. (THis thought is gonna have a sort of 'foreshadowing' effect later. Suddenly feel like a writer ie Hardy etc etc)

Anyway, MM bought the 1st item of the day. A bottle of nail polish from loreal. One that cost me $5.50 but she got it for $3.50! See, it doesn't pay to buy things early. Everyone should just shop during Christmas. You get more discounts =)

Saw Felicia with her friend. She looks v savvy, in fact, she has been to a job interview. So fast!!

Then to lunch at this large hawker centre at Four Horse Road or 'Si Ma Lu'. Haha... that was not the best joke. Nice food as usual and to Sim Lim Square

Plaza Singapura, zero, nada, zilch

WEnt on to Plaza next and it suddenly hit me that The Amazing Race was gonna start soon. It always happens, like durng the examination period, I would have a paper at 2 pm, and in the midst of urban problems, I would look up at the clock and go 'They are leaving the pit stop now' or in the midst of analysing Ruth in the Homecoming, I would go 'Someone is getting voted out now'. It's just me and reality TV.

Ok, back to topic. Nothing much productive was done at Plaza Singapura. So, uh, Yeah.

Saw this pleasant looking tanned mother trying on a dress that looks gorgeous on her. She looks good for a mother of 2. I thought you gained weight horribly after birth. Maybe she was really skinny b4 that. Like, me! There is hope!!!

It's Thursday! Why are there so many people?

Orchard, the cluster of shopping centres and stuff and where there are so many shops it can make you dizzy. Off we go.

Takashimaya, was finding a necklace thing for Sl and at Chromel, where we were looking, MM made a v funny remark "Everything looks so gaudy". Haha, for those taitais who love costume like these, they won't be too glad to hear it, but as I said MM is brutally honest. Maybe when everything is clustered together, it looks a little gaudy, but individually, the pieces are exquisite.

Went up to Daniel Yam. Tried 2 dress one red and long with a train and grey short cocktail style dress. MM and Sam (hey that rhymes) went for the red (a cool 129 bucks) and Sl said the grey (99 bucks). Forget it. it's not fantastic on me or anything, so I'm still gonna search.

Guess who I saw! (or rather, MM saw) WAnting! REally missed her and stuff, haven't been talking to her these days. Remember we were so... close in sec school, we said we would be each other's bridesmaid. Haha.. She looks the same,v pretty. And guess who she was with - Kelvin! OMG! While we were inputting our no. in each other's hp, I slyly asked 'are you going out with him?' Apparently, they are just friends. Yes. That go out together. Would be glad that they are together. REmember how she would grouse about how Kelvin disturbed her in the past. Heh

The Paragon Of Things

MM and I went to the Paragon , while Sl and Sam went over to Lucky plaza. Funny, ain't it? MM and I were back where we originally went about 2 wks ago. Metro is actually a v good place to shop, or so Sl will tell you, haha. But it really is.

Tried on a few dresses and I tried to find the lavender Yen skirt and halter top I tried at Bugis, just in case I had to fall back on it. Can't find it. Dang. Oh well. MM tried on a few long skirts and top combi while I tried a really sexy sort of dress, that one can imagine Sandra Bullock wearing (I don't know why, but her image popped up). Bleah, the smallest size was TOO BIG for me!!! Can't believe it. MM looked nice, like ice princess and quite elegant too. But I guessed she had trouble choosing between the two tops. Hmm. they both have good points and bad points. I was getting frantic, MM had narrowed it down to that skirt and I haven't even found a frickin dress!!!

Saw PS with her sis too, seems like she didn't get anything yet. But think she later got a black long dress.

I was telling MM how horrid is it to find a dress and how ironic it is. during exam time, I wanted so much for it to end so I could prepare for prom. Now that I am buying a dress, I wished that I could forget about it and go back to taking exams again. It seems easier. (Keep in mind)

Then MM and I went to Topshop @ Wisma, Miss Selfridge @ Wisma and Warehouse. Nothing, nothing at all.

Met up with Sl and Sam. Guess what Sl says, "I rather be taking exams now". Woah. So I wasn't the only crazy one

OG - Oldies Galore, um. outrageously gaudy.hmm.

On MM's cousin's recommendation, we went to OG beside Centrepoint. I was hoping that this will be IT. I will find the perfect dress here. We were really tired already. Guess what? OG had 3 levels of ladies clothes. BUT. IT. IS. NOT. OUR. STYLE!!! What a waste!! MM was saying "my cousin's taste could not be THAT much older than mine" incredulously.

This was a day of sighs. MM and I each gave out huge SIGHS. It is equivalent to those that you hear in Taiwanese weepy dramas, where the women are in a dilemma or is really sad. SIGH

Round Round, baby round round, spinning all about, I don't need nothing, Paragon's got it all (Sing to Sugababe's 'Round Round')

So where do we end up at last? Where MM and I first looked at dresses 2 wks ago - Paragon

What?! you mean I wasted my time? Incredulous gasp from me.

MM tried a few more combi but with that same style. But she really wanted the ruffle neck top. On my part I saw the most GORGEOUS dress ever. And it's in S size. I tried it. It looks perfect. Doesn't make me look thin, that's all I ask for. and makes me took tall too. Fantastic.

Remember the foreshadowing part?

That part about SL's dress?

Yes.

The one that I tried on was Sl's dress bought 3 weeks ago.

*Bam*

You mean the first perfect dress I saw and tried and I can't buy it? You could knock me over with a spoon.

SIGH

Oh well. I tried another dress from the same brand and same material and has a Spanish Flamenco taste to it. It's beautiful, and quite different from the other one. I'm satisfied, really.

But I kept lamenting about that dress. That's why I said MM is the most patient friend in the world. She didn't stuff a sock into my mouth to stop me from lamenting =) She was pretty understanding in fact.

I was thinking. If I hadn't seen SL's dress that day, and I bought the same dress as her unknowingly... Haha...

Coincidence sure worked in weird ways.
