One week !
... and I feel like I have been cut off from civilisation for a long time!
Heh. Currently interning at Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) ... and like all good country clubs it's located at the end of a loooooooog drive. So I have to take the shuttle bus in. And like I've complained in a few previous entries, it's at Upper Thompson, so it's like... REALLY FAR for me.
The IRONIC THING is - So far I've always been on time, early even. These couple of days I've been 15 minutes early for the shuttle bus. Heh.
See? When I wanna be early I can! I'm not always late! :D
Anyway, sian. My hp camera is spoilt, or I can take some photos of where I work.
Oh I wanna complain a little!!!
I have NO TABLE!!!!
I have to sit at the counter (I'm in the golfing department)... so sometimes the members (mostly golfers) would come and ask me questions -
'How do I change my handicap?'
'Can I play at the Island course today?'
'Is there a tournament at the New course today?'
'I lost my 9 iron at the old course, do you have it?' (How do you lose a golf club?!)
'I want to sign up for PC test'
'Can I sign my child up for the junior camp?' (Oh this I know! :D)
So ya... I'm just like customer service la. Heh. But sigh... I know interns are like people who do rubbish jobs, but ... I don't know la. A did apologise to me that she's busy with competitions these couple of days so couldn't really orientate me around.
But I really like the people there! A's the golfing exec, like my supervisor (I'm supposed to 'report' to her) ... she's really funny. Heh. A little intimidating but very funny and nice. She was offering me some ang ku kueh and I was like 'Erm, I'm allergic to peanuts'. So she's like 'Oh, got green bean ones also!' ... Then she looks into the box trying to look for the green bean ones. I looked into the box and there were this assortment of green and red kuehs. She then asked Sh which were the green bean ones. Sh said 'The green ones are the green bean ones la!'
Hahaha...
Sh's really nice too. On the first day of work, she asked me to sit at her table (cause she was going off early) and got a stack of mags and told me to surf the net if I wanted to.
Others too, the rest of the golfing assistants. Kat's really nice ... she's like so chatty and friendly and happy all the time. She's really nice to me as well, kind of always involving me when the staff are speaking. Z's very nice also, very friendly and always teach me stuff, although he kind of gets bullied by them sometimes heh. R's a little quiet, but I think that's cause she's new. But I kind of learnt a lot from her. Oh also my namesake :) spelled with a K ... at first I thought she didn't like me, but she's been very nice to me, always teaching me stuff too
And have been interning with Steve, Yvonne and Su Juan! All of them are so nice! =) I think the girls (all sans Steve) have been getting along very well. Our 'long' lunches, our complaining :D. Today's staff menu at the Island pool being roasted pork belly (eeeyuck) we opted to eat at 19th Hole instead. Haha... a little more ex but the food's more delish!
And oh ya... Dan sent me home on Monday and Tuesday... kind of made the ride home less boring. :) I'm so polite, but thanks for doing that :D
I got work tomorrow!!! ON A SATUDAY!!!
