hey hey hey
For Whom?

(**Before I start, I would like to say that I wasn't trying to be offensive for anything. I was just thinking about what certain actions really meant.**)

One of my friends invited me to this rock concert at this cafe, which I went and enjoyed very much. The music was great and the atmosphere was fantastic. Young people dancing to the music and jumping from chairs and the usual dancing scene. The music was very loud and faintly reminiscient of Linkin Park.

Also, I have to point this out. The guy who wrote the music is very talented. 16 and he has accomplished alot musically, writing those rock songs and playing the electric guitar very well. The rest of the band members were great too. Overall, the whole thing was like a rowdy rock scene. But it was a Christian rock concert and the band was a christian band.

Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Christianity and Christian music. In fact, I really enjoyed the music. But I didn't enjoy it as Christian music, I enjoyed it as rock music. That, I feel, was something wrong.

At first, I tried to go along with the music, like the girls in the front row, jumping and dancing like they were at Creed's rock concert. But I was held back as I kept reminding myself that this was Christian music. Can I enjoy it as rock music? Later, I let go and followed the girls in the front row dancing wildly. And I forgot that it was Christian music.

My point, essentially, is that, I believe this concert is more of an excuse to have fun, just like the band is capitalising on a captured market to further their music

I look at the first row girls and I think clubbers. Did they really stop and actually read the lyrics and thought of what it meant? Were they thinking 'cool, I can show off my dance moves' instead of 'what the band is singing really made sense'?

Similarly to the band. Did they write this music with their hearts more in the lyrics than in the music? Did they concentrate more on how it sounds than what it means? Did they use the word 'Christian' in front of the title 'rock group' so as to build on a captured market?

I cannot help but think so. This may offend some people, but this is what I think and I will be honest.
Scary Realisation 2

It is not so scary as guilty. I did not have any photo taken with Daeyna! She was sitting beside me! How could I have forgotten her?

Ditto for Kenny.
Scary Realisation

So Sam wasn't the only one who thought that I had couple look with AAron in the photo. Apparently, Alex thinks so too.

I don't believe this.

Well, I think it was a compliment. ALex said that Aaron was the best looking guy in our class. (Not that we have alot of guys in the class). If I had 'couple' look with him, I should look pretty good too. Haha..

Don't know what Aaron would make of this. Haha...
Dinner for Lucas

We had a farewell dinner for Lucas last Sun. The sunday after prom. He would be going to the army and well, I really believed our class just wanted a reason to get together. Went to NYDC.

(Oh, btw, SL cut her hair! To quote her, it looked like "cabbage")

Food was good. I love any dish with 'mushroom madness' on it. Would have loved the tiramisu if they had any, but it was outta stock.

After that went to a cheap shop with Sam. Bought cheap facial care stuff from brand names. Great shop, that.

Post Cap

Ok, this is gonna be a short summary of what happened on prom week.

I would love to say that I gained substantial weight on my shoulders and my um, chest area by swimming and doing press ups but no, it didn't happen. So I remained small shouldered and needed a padded bra. K.

The day befored prom, I had RED EYES! (Or EYE,as it was only the right side) It was infection that was brought about by contact lenses. I "seem to be in Somebody's hand", to borrow a quote from Henchard. The day before my prom, also the most glamourous night in JC, and I have red eyes and cannot wear my contact lenses for 2 weeks. "As flies to wanton boys are we to th' gods/ they kill us for their sport"

On prom day, SL (to be known as Beauty from now on, haha), MM and Me met at Yishun MRT station. (**Digress: Remember Yishun MRT station? A Muslim group actually wanted to blow that up post 911. Fortunately, it was averted as Singapore authorities stepped in. Phew.**) So we met there to buy chips and a cake for PS as it was her bday soon. I had to walk very far!!! And there wasn't cheesecake so I got come chocolate concortion. I love shopping for tidbits, like during chalet times. Forget it, I just love shopping. Period.

Then we went to OCC. The room was actually pretty decent. Large, cozy and soft. Don't ask. It just came across as soft. Maybe the lighting and the carpet. Don't know. The three of us checked the place out, and played with the TV and lights a little, then MM and I went to Chantel.

At CG, we walked in and I was instantly seated down for the makeup. There are about 3 other girls excluding MM and Felicia (who's also there!). Saw a girl wearing a Yen 'present' dress. It was not flattering on her. I am very honest and forthright.

To sum it up, I didn't get the 'Bobbi Brown makeup' effect I wanted and I didn't get the 'Gone with the wind' style hair that I wanted but the overall effect was quite nice. I love my hair. (But it didn't really photograph well). As for MM, oh well. She has her opinions. Personally, I thought her hair was quite a disaster. She agreed. Her stylist wasn't so pleased.

We went back. Met up Daeyna and Pei Fang, both looking different and really pretty. I sat in front with the cab driver. He chatted with me alot. I thought he was 25 (but I was without glasses). He told me he was 50. UMMM.

OCC. Saw SL and PS who came back too from make up. SL is very pretty with her hair down. Her makeup is natural, and she looks very different, a little more confident. PS looks very pretty too. I love her makeup. Gah! should have gone to JEan Yip. And she cut her hair! It is tres chic.

General mass confusion. Broke my bracelet. Hysterical.

Then 7. We went to the Grand Ballroom. All of us look different. More grown up. Carried ourselves a little more confidently, gracefully and more feminine. Power of playing dress up.

I would love to write a recap on the dinner itself. Really. But it's too boring and it's absolutely uneventful. I would love to say the cute guy I was eyeing (whom I always saw when I'm with MM) came over and told me he was harbouring a giant like on me. But it did not happen, bleah =)

So it's on to photo taking. Blah blah blah, I took photos with people I can identify without wearing my glasses.

When monster took a photo with me, he put his hand on the small of my back. I made a 'bleah' face to PS, but she didn't catch it. At least not with the camera. I am absolutely fine with the action. I am not so fine with the person who did that.

Then the whole night was phototaking all the way which is absolutely boring and I can't remember a thing anyway. So. this is THE END. (of the post cap)
