Whack people with a tennis racquet

When you are pms-ing, I think the fun-est thing to do is to whack someone/something with a tennis racket.

-----------------------

Ok la. I'm that violent actually. I'll be fine putting someones' face on a porcupine.

-----------------------

Anyway! Happyyyyy! Bought lots of clothes! Actually not really... 2 tops for clubbing and a dress. So fun, shall wear it this weekend!

It's been so long since I clubbed! I miss it. I want to dance with someone so badly!

I want to dance to sexy R&B music! No cheesy mambo for me please!

I want to have lots of people around me! I want to bump into someone everytime I turn around!

I want to drink a lot and get the light headed feeling.

Eh!!! Please ask me out!! I know I have not been turning up the couple of times you guys asked me to go clubbing but please ask me out! I got nice new clothes!

I think snowmen are absolutely adorable! Adorable ones, of course. Scary snowmen are just scary.

Picture blog - Zoo edition!

Sunday morning, I’m bored. Doing picture blog again!

The zoo this time!! Went there 2 weeks ago (I think) with Peishan, Sam, Siewlee and Ming!

I was a little upset that day though, cause of some stuff that happened the night before. Kind of cried a little when I met them. I think it’s the first time they saw me cry… haha. But thank you guys for making this trip so fun and putting up with me and my weird tempers haha. And thanks Sam for the free tickets! Hah.

-------------------

Welcome to the Singapore zoo!

Best zoo in the world blah blah blah … open zoo concept… blah blah. I’m sure you’ve heard everything about it :) Probably second only to San Diego Zoo!

I love how the entrance is designed. Very safari-ish!

We found some float thingys at the car park place near the entrance of the zoo! Sneaked in to take photos with the floats! This photo was kind of an unexpected result, we wanted to take a photo of us jumping up in the air. Guess this one captured the picture a little later. But I love how we look so happy!

The polar bear is taller than me… :/ (Eh, my legs look skinny in this photo hahah… Yay!)

Gahhh!!! A little too close for comfort right! Heh, that’s my hand in the photo anyway.

Scaly encounters… Aren’t we all terrified of snakes!

Erm, green snake! Arrrghghhhh….. (Sidenote, doesn’t Peishan look like she’s channeling Edvard Munch's ‘The Scream’? Hahaha.)

Python!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh it’s huge!!!!!!

I actually look scared haha, unlike the previous photo where I look like I’m laughing at Peishan’s fear. Heh. Siewlee looks like she’s wa-yang-ing! HAha.

The Singapore zoo has very nice toilets.

What are we doing?

Taking photos! HAhaha… Toilets are the best places to take photos cause the lighting is good! I love this photo!

And they also have the faux waterfall thingy! So pretty!! (I meant me and Sam. Whaha)

Series of mad photos –

Me as snake with needle and PS and snake running away… haha. PS is damn funny! :p

Rawrrrrrr!Don’t mess with us!

Girls show their feline instincts!

Peishan loves elephants. Don’t ask me why Ming has her fingers positioned like she’s poking the elephant’s ass :p

Sam and Ming as pygmy hippos hahahah. This picture cracks me up everytime I see it.

Animal show : It’s scary how long the arms of an orang utan is. My gosh… it’s really creepy! I think even longer than the legs!

While waiting for the elephant show. We got bored :P

The comes the elephants!!! Very cute! Personally I think that elephants have very cute feet, but then that’s just me :D

I think leopards/jaguars (can’t remember which one has the spots and which has just a circle) has cute feet too! Like soft toy right! :P (Yes I’m aware this comment makes me sound like a bimbo)

*lovvvvvveeeeeee!

Mini horse!!!!! *pat his head

Not to be confused with a pony! A mini horse is even smaller than a pony!

I love mini horses! So cute! Too bad it’s not the black one… I really liked the black mini horse… Very poor thing, that black mini horse…

Awww…. Wedding by the lake… and such beautiful weather too…

So romantic.

Alternative to wedding by the beach I guess…

Wishing well…

I always loved wishing wells.

Going back, couple last photos before they take the bus to CCK and I take the bus to AMK to meet Dan.

My cap! (which I didn’t wear for the entire day). I think Ming looks really nice in this photo.

I had fun! :P

The five of us, tired after a day of fun!

Please ignore.

I can't stand myself sometimes.

I can't understand you sometimes.

As it is.

Just as it is.

What am I to you?

I honestly don't know.

The worst daughter in the world

:(

Was talking to mum just now.

She just had a day operation yesterday. Took about 1 hour. I told her to call me after her operation to let me know if everything's okay. She did, so I just conveniently left it at the back of my mind and did other stuff at work.

At night went for a movie with Dan. 'Why are you not home taking care of your mum?'
I said I think she should be alright, it's a 1/2 hour operation and she can go home after that. I didn't think about it again.

It was only when I got home that I went into Dad and Mum's room, and she was sleeping. Dad said 'Don't wake her up... she had 4 stitches'

I was concerned for a while... then went back to thinking about some issues I was thinking of on the train.

And again today I didn't even think of calling mum to ask about her operation, or if her stitches were hurting her or anything. In my defense (sort of), I was actually quite busy at work today. It's the fact that I didn't even think of how Mum is coping that is making me feel really guilty. The fact that it didn't even once cross my mind. The fact that I am so selfish and self absorbed I neglected the one of the most important person in my life.

I was helping her clean her wound just now and looking at her wound... it makes me want to cry. It looks like it hurts a lot. And just now she told me she felt hurt that I went out yesterday even though I knew she had an operation in the morning. That I didn't call to ask about her. But she kept quiet about it... until today.

I'm so sorry Mum, I'm so so sorry.

I want to be a good daughter.

Double Standards

Wanted to blog about this but I forgot. Remember this post?

Anyway, I wanted to add. How come is it alright when people tell thin girls

'Oh my gosh, you're soooooo skinny! Go eat something, you are so damn bone-y! Eeks! You look like you're a starving refuge!'

but not okay / politically incorrect to tell fat girls

'Oh my gosh, you're soooooo fat! Time to cut down on those chocolates and char kway teows! You look like you are a polar bear!'

It's so unfair, cause if you're talking about health issues, both body types are equally unhealthy. The skinny body type is not getting enought nutrients and the fat body type is in danger of having higher heart related diseases. So I would say that both statements above are perfectly fine to say to someone if you are concerned about their well being (although it ranks pretty low on the tact level).

So why is it that we are frowned upon for telling people that they are obese and should eat less, and nothing is said when we tell skinny people to eat a cheesebuger?

That's unfair! It's also extremely hurtful when people tell me 'Eh go eat something, you're so bony'. I bet it hurts no less than when a fat person is told 'Eh don't eat too much char kway teow, you're so fat'

It's all society's fault. It's okay to be skinny and have people tell you you're an aneroxic (I got that once I think), but not okay to tell a fat person he/she's obese. Why? Is it more flattering to be aneroxic? It's not! It hurts just as much when people tell you that.

So stop it.

---------------

I do like it, though, when people fuss about me :)

*M* says:
erm.. make urself porridge
*C* says:
haha, i'd prob eat choc or sth
*C* says:

Very maternal right! So nice to have people fuss about you! :D

-----------

Anyhoo. took off on tuesday to do some serious tanning but !!! It was raining... so went to meet Cher at Harbourfront where we drank hot cocoa (yay) then went to watch Batman Begins!

Batman begins is really good! I kind of wasn't really into it cause it's not normally my genre of movies, but I really really liked it! I love how they were showed how Batman acquired all his fancy-schmancy playthings, like the batsuit and the batmobile. Damn cool! Christian Bale's a really really good actor, it's almost like he IS Batman. I loved Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine in this movie too.

Hate Katie Holmes. If you guys watch it, pay attention to the last part where she's about to lean in to kiss Christian Bale... oh my god what's with that scrunched up twisted mouth face?!! Christian Bale is so damn hot! It must be such a sexy moment to kiss him and you TOTALLY botch it up with some weird face expression?!!

Glad there's no Robin. Would have made the movie less 'dark' with his goofy red and green christmassy costume.

Met Dannnn after that. We went shopping around. Actually we went to Times Bookshop. I realised that everytime we are at PS, we will go to the Times Bookshop (at my request la :D). And we'll always go to the kid's section to read kiddy books. But it's fun! I like reading kiddy books! Read the kid version for 'Who moved my cheese?', which I absolutely loved because the illustrations cracked me up. Hahahah... especially Haw with the red face!

Walk walk walkerty walk

Ended up at Istana Park. Splashed water at me and made me wet! I managed to put up a fight as I splashed a huge amount of water at him. Heh heh. Yay me.

Sitting on the bench and looking at people.

Went to Carrefour. I love Unbearables!!!!!!! And the cute bear on the plastic cover! So cute!

Oh I think I look good in your cap also, so you may as well give it to me :P

Went for SMP meeting at night. Rhyss yelled to me as I walked in 'ARE YOU ATTACHED!!!' Apparently she wants to do an SMP speed dating! Whahaha... Meeting was lots of fun, as usual. Lots of laughs! :D

---------------

Okay sleepy already! Was sick today, battling fever and flu and total I-want-to-plonk-my-head-into-cold-water-it's-so-heavy-ness. Luckily I was doing a stoney job so I can pretend I'm still okay.

What's wrong with you Chris! Will take leave to look for your watch but will not take leave when you are sick and feel like plonking yourself on a bed!

La! Nights all!

Father's Day

Kenny Sia's post on father's day made me cry.

Why is it that we only truly realise the importance of the people around us when we have lost them?

I've never really been very close with Dad, and that hurts me sometimes, cause I was the first child. And though I'm definitely Daddy's girl (i.e. Dad would let me do stuff Mum won't allow etc), I've never been able to talk to Dad truly honestly. It feels like sometimes I tend to say the wrong thing, or do the wrong thing. Never really did anything right.

And sometimes, his words hurt me a lot.

Underneath it all, all of us just wants to be accepted and loved for who we are.

I always feel like I lack something to make the people around me really love me and want to take care of me, be proud of me. I always feel like I lack something to make the people around me happy.

Everyone.

It hurts most when I feel like that with Dad.

Weird Stuff

Ok, they had The Naked Chef in the UK, so Singapore MUST COPYCAT!

But honestly... 'The Sensual Chef' doesnt' cut it.

In case you don't know who 'The sensual Chef' is, here's a picture taken at his restaurant at Chinatown.

Omg, damn funny!!!

I was trying hard not to laugh, turned to Mike and said 'The Sensual Chef?! He looks damn weird!! What's up with the hair?!' Looks like he should be acting in some wu xia movie as the villian or the transverstite female lead for or Xiao Long Nu gone wrong or something la.

Mike - 'You sure? If he's taller, he's actually quite good looking'
Me - 'What?! With that hair?! And the black tint glasses?!! Hello! Trying too hard!'

Anyway, weird stuff part 2.

I was on a walking tour of the estates of Serangoon with Dan on Friday. So we were at this really dark alley when I saw this -

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Very freaky! Cause I wasn't wearing my glasses, and without it, I'm like 600 plus degrees and prone to see stuff in a blurred fashion. So we were walking pass that tree, when Dan was going to talk about the accident.

I pointed at the tree 'Is it me, or is that a tree?' (I meant it like 'Is that tree growing horizontal?!'
Dan - 'Ya that's a tree'
Me - *surprised how he's so nonchalant
Me - 'But!!! It's a weird tree!'
Dan - 'What?'
Me - 'It's weird! How come Serangoon got weird trees one!
Dan - 'Eh they took our the sign ah'
Me - *wonder what sign
Me - 'The tree! How come horizontal one! It's creepy!'
Dan - 'What you talking about?'
Me - *squints

I finally realised it was just a normal tree, just that there was this horizontal pole sticking out from the side. And cause it was pretty dark, the light brown pole stood out, while the dark brown tree trunk melded into the background.

For a while I was damn creeped out! :P

Anyway, someone messaged me 'Hi!' from the 88888 singtel net sms thing today! Very exciting, like secret admirer. Hah. =P

Msged Dan and asked 'was it you! :p'

He didn't reply. Probably sleeping or gaming =/

Most likely it'll turn out to be nothing la haha.

--------

Eta - I'm getting addicted to crabstick! Yummy. Anyway if you ever wanna eat crabstick, don't ever save money by getting the cheapo 1 dollar for 20 sticks types. It sucks... really, you may as well be eating flour. I think flour has more taste. Get Dodo brand. Weird brand name but gosh the crab sticks are delish! You MUST add honey to them! MUST!!! It tastes so yummy!!!

--------

Eta2 - OHHHH NO!!! Save me, I'm spending too much money! But I'm so weak, I can't help it. Jordi Labanda has a new series to his new collection and I JUST GOT TO HAVE IT! So, I blew 18 bucks on notebooks today. Have to scrimp and save for the next few days already... Sigh. But it's worth it! This brings my collection of 'unused and probably will never use Jordi Labanda notebooks' up to 5!

The latest 2 I got are the blue and red ones.

There are still the yellow and purple ones, so if anybody's feeling generous... :p I would REALLY love to have them. =D

Cannot

I can feel myself becoming like that again.

Cannotcannotcannot.

I wonder if this time I'm justified.

Calmer this time though, maybe I'm used to it already.

Sometimes I wished I'm not so immune to it as I am now.

At least when I get mad, I feel.

That's the security I need, I guess.

... Why is it not you?

Goodgoodgood!

I got a new digicam! Panasonic Lumix FX7

In white! I love it. *Hugs Dad!

A lot of good things happening!

  • I got to ride a buggy again today and went to the New Course to do registration for a charity golf game!
  • I got complimented a few times for my profile photo! (point to right)
  • Jordi Labanda got new notebooks! (shrieks)
  • Cheryl's back from SEP!
  • I got hearted! :P I heart you too <3
  • I am going to get myself Secret Wish! 55 bucks only!
  • I'm gonna take next tuesday off to go tanning with Yvonne and SuJuan! :D
  • So I'll need new bikinis!
  • I'm getting myself new lingerie from La Senza!

YAYYYYYYY!!!!!

Anyway, to sound a little more sane, I had a bad dream last night. Kind of, dreamt that I was being 'stalked' by this friend who wanted to kill me?!! So I was kind of on the run. Couldn't even sit down for a rest. In on particularly scary part, I was sitting down at this crowded food centre trying to catch my breath when my friend pulled me to my feet and told me 'Run! He's going to kill you!'

Sheer terror.

I know why already.

Must be because someone made me sing 'Old MacDonald has a farm' against my wishes before I can go to sleep :P

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIEWLEE!

Enjoy your present... hahahhahahaha :P:P:P Posted by Hello

I didn't buy it! I just chose it! :P

No no no./Don't tempt me./I'm very happy now./Don't./I cherish what I have now.

Damn long overdue birdpark pictorial :D

Welcome to The Bird Park! Introducing our hosts for today from left we have Christine! In the middle, Sam and in pink, Peishan! Our lovely and friendly hosts will guide you through this online tour of the Bird Park!

First up, parrots! Erm, there are blue and red parrots. Also green ones (not pictured, cause we didn’t take photos of it)

Parrots are small creatures. To give you an idea of the scale, Sam and Chris have kindly agreed to pose along side the parrots to show you just how small they are! (Disregard the small boy on the right)

Too much walking especially under the sun is bad for the skin! So that’s why you should always rest (by sitting near the fountain as demonstrated by our friendly hosts) or bring an umbrella! (which is so troublesome..)

Then we look at penguins! Did you know? Emperor Penguins can grow up to human size! That’s a little known fact!! Chris and Sam has again, kindly agreed to pose with them to show how large they can be.

(Note – I’m lying)

Ok! Next proceed to the suspension bridge! Be careful as it can be shaky. But once you are in the middle of the bridge, be sure to pose for a picture as erm… it’s a good photo opportunity! =D

From one bridge to another, take a walk on the wooden bridge towards Swan Lake! Okay, there are no swans in the picture, but this picture shows how green the water is! And also shows the back view of Chris and Peishan!

Don’t be disappointed if you don’t see swans, there are still flamingoes! Chris goes into Vanna White mode as she showcases the flamingoes!

Or you can also take photos with fake flamingoes! You can stand nearer to them and there is a higher chance they won’t peck you on the head or something like that! =)

**Start commercial break!**

Ben and Jerry’s ice cream! Perfect for the scorching weather. Try our new flavours Lava Brownie ™ and Mango Limeade ™ today!

**End commercial break**

Welcome back!

A short public service announcement!

Don’t eat fishes!

Cause it makes Chris and Peishan sad… :/

(Yes, Chris is aware she looks totally weird in this photo)

Our next feathered friend are the emus! Peishan’s favourite bird. Peishan introduces Ernie the emu!

Everyone loves Ernie the emu… look at the excitement on the faces of Peishan and Chris… but wait is that excitement on Chris’s face or … shock?

Gahhhh!!! Shock!

Ernie the emu goes mad and starts to attack!

Let’s look at something more tame, shall we? Like these little birds, which I’ve forgotten the name to. Let’s just call them BirdSpeciesA or BSA in short. BSA is brightly coloured, small and looks so cartoon-y and cute! How can anyone resist? It’s exceedingly chirpy too! (which can be a bit irritating)

Still reeling from shock, Chris doesn’t really take well to the BSAs. Peishan, on the other hand, looks serenely at the birds. Good news! If you don’t make any sudden movement, the birds won’t attack!

Let’s take another break! Sam, Chris and Peishan shall show you some facial exercises you can do to promote blood circulation in the face.

Tada! Note – don’t try Sam’s expression for a prolonged period of time as it may cause your mouth to be permanently puckered =p

Alright back to birds!

Flamingoes. AGAIN.

But look! A brand new spanking glass house, which Chris (in Vanna White mode) showcases. At press time, we don’t know what that building is (or can’t remember what it is. Anyhoo it doesn’t matter.)

Our lovely and gracious hosts stand in front of the world tallest man made waterfall! … only you can’t see the waterfall, cause the photographer didn’t tilt the camera vertical. But you don’t care about the waterfall, do you? What’s important are that our hosts look good in this photo! =)

A last demonstration for today.

How to look excited for a photo!

Look at exhibit A. Chris was criticized for looking restless in this photo. (Even though she was smiling and all *glare at Sam and Peishan)

Let’s see how a minor adjustment can brighten up the photo!

Wheeee!

(Yes Chris is aware, again, that she looks really stupid in this photo)

Before you leave, be sure to check out this hut thingy with weird instruments you can play with! Can’t remember what’s it about, but what’s important is that it’s a photo opportunity!

And also! Be sure to pick up an adorable flamingo toy from the Bird Park gift shop!

Bye! Cya at the Bird Park real soon! =D
