Hey, you're home at last

was what Alex told me today when I got home.

Have I been away for so long?

Thursday| Tiiiiiiired

My OGLs from O week called last night to ‘scold’ me for running off to rag and leaving very little people in my O week group to play the games. I am apologetic, really but I think rag needs people as well. Anyway… was a pretty uneventful day. Actually, it’s uneventful because I can’t remember anything about it.

Oh yeah, today was quite cool cause we had this Jam and Hop publicity thing, and we got to sit up front with Janet to publicise JandH to the entire freshmen group.

Oh yeah again. I asked Rui De about returning him the money for the supper last night, and he’s like, it’s not paid by me, but it’s a treat, so it’s okay. But I was quite insistent, and he told me Wilfred was the one who paid for it, and that it was a treat. I was like, no, it’s so embarrassing, since I don’t know him that well and stuff. And then Rui De was like ‘As embarrassing as the night Keng Leong drove you to Jurong?’

Friday| Kurnitz’s Kandy Store. A Play!

Went back to school again. My days are getting predictable. As usual I didn’t join the OG. Sat with the Daer crew. Hmmm. Lots of talks, of which I cannot remember. Talked to SL. Seems like she’s going with EePei’s time table. We are not sharing any same classes, and possibly tutorials. Oh well, we’ll catch up, I’m sure of it.

Hm. Maybe I will subscribe to The Economist and BusinessWeek. *shrug. MingYao says it quite good. I don’t know. I just like the idea of being like reading academic stuff heh. Also, I do not have Time anymore, so I’m gonna get something else. Oh. Maybe I shouldn’t. I still have my reading list to do. Mrs. Dalloway and Waiting for Godot are on the queue. Then it’s Sophie’s World. Grahhh, I do not have time to do anything anymore.

Oh yeah. Met up with Sam dear! :D:D Seems like it’s been ages since I’ve seen her! We took a Mercs cab to Newton to meet her CS friends. (I mentioned Mercs cab, because coincidentally, I took a Mercs cab when I went back to NUS too, heh). Hm. Met the famous Ricardo that she’s been talking about since the camp. I must admit he’s a really really nice person.

Oh guess who I saw at the play. I took 2 steps into the place, and I heard ‘Christine!!!’ and it was Beth! It was really nice of her to call me. I mean, I’ve only been out with her once. I like her top, hahah.

And then, I heard another ‘Christine!!’ and it was Gerry!!! Omg! I haven’t seen her in such a long time, since January this year. And you know the unique Gerry voice, the absolutely delighted kind of greeting. *smile. It’s so nice to see her. She has a different hairstyle now too.

Although I wasn’t in CS, I felt absolutely at home, hahah. The play was very nice; I liked the comic timing and the pitch perfect accents of the actors and actresses.

Then went back to school. Haha… talked to Larry and ZhengWei. Larry reads Agatha Christie too! I must get the Complete Poirot mysteries from him one day, haha. Hmpf. And since when did I become ZhengWei and WeiHerng’s PA? Hahah.

Wednesday| O Week! Many People! A Movie! And I'm envious of Lara Croft's body.

Started the day laaate, as usual, got mum to drive me to school. Then met Val, Larry, WeiHerng and Cheryl at school, where we walked to LT 17 together to meet the rest of the freshies. Larry said we were ‘senior freshies’, heh. Luckily I joined FOC, or I’ll be walking around alone… that’s sad. Anyway, met up with SL and Karen. Karen’s in my group, so we went to the OG together. Anyway, about ¾ of my group was made up of foreigners, from Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan etc etc. That’s quite a bit; I’m not being discriminatory or anything, but it made conversation very difficult. I didn’t know what to say to them. I’m not sure if they understood me either. Hm.

Anywayyy, I didn’t really join them much for the games. Joined one game and went off to rag with the Daer crew. Worked on rag for the rest of the day, then went put in the evening. Met up with the rest of the guys, Larry, WeiHerng, WeiSheng, Robin and Jayce. Cheryl and I went out for dinner with Shirley first, a friend of Cheryl’s, who’s really funny. Hahaha… omg, the ‘salt shake shake’ thing is too funny. We asked Shirley to rate Larry and Jayce. And if she finds either cute, she has to shake either the salt or the pepper. She was like, if I don’t find any cute, I’ll throw the Tabasco sauce on the floor. Lol. And oh yeah, we checked out guys too. Heh.

Anyway, Larry is so the fussy eater! Hmpf. We smsed him to ask him if it’s okay we meet them at Pasta Mania to have dinner, and he said okay. Once the guys reached there, him, Jayce and Robin went off somewhere. We later realised they sneaked off to KFC to eat. Hmpf. According to Larry, he doesn’t eat Italian.

Shopped a bit at PS. I bought this dress from Ebase. It was a totally embarrassing shopping experience. First, Cheryl tried on this top, and when she came out, WeiHerng was like ‘It makes you look fat’. Then she tried this dress. Stepped out and Jayce went ‘Noooo!’ in a horrified tone. Then I was asking them if I should buy the dress I was holding. Jayce asked me how much it was. The conversation went like this.
C - $42
J – And the price after discount?
C – It’s the discounted price already
J – What! It’s so ex!
I think the sales person didn’t really like us. Cause when I went back to get the dress, she wasn’t exactly friendly. In fact, she asked me ‘Where are the guys?’

Watched Tomb Raider – Cradle of Life, which is really nice. Me, Val and Cher were so envious over Angelina J’s body. She’s such a hot babe. Hee. I stayed overnight in school.

Tuesday| Badminton!
Anyhow. Went to play badminton on Tuesday. It was slack day for us, so we didn't go for rag. Had to travel to Hougang *fume. Hahaha... Was there with Cheryl, Jayce, Val, Andy, Juan, KianHo and some other people. A little weird b/c I don't really know the seniors; unlike Val and Cher who went out fishing with them. But it was fun. Haven't played badminton in a long time! Cheryl's such a fantastic badminton player! omg I seriously think she can give the guys there good competition. She's almost as good as Jayce. I think KianHo is a fantastic player. Actually watching the guys play was like watching a match kind of thingy. So exciting.

After that we went to Chomp Chomp at Serangoon Gardens for dinner. The food's alright, I guess. I've never been there before, was my first time. I like the giant sugar cane drink btw, that was soo... good. Heh.

Monday was BUSY
was absolutely SHAGGED. I am so tired and I don't know why. I think I've signed up for too many stuff. It's like, everyday, I have to go back to school. I'm not saying that I don't enjoy it, but I think it's too drastic a change in too short a period of time.

I'm sure I'll get used to it soon.

Anyway, reached school at about 11 today. Me, Cheryl, Larry, Val, Herng and Sheng wanted to go to the marticulation fair early to check out the computers and stuff, but found out we couldn't get in. So we went to the rag site instead. Hmmm... worked papier-marche for a short while then we went for lunch at the arts fac. Where Amir messaged me! :D:D Hee... Amir is so funny. He smsed - You are very tall! I was checking you out until I realised, it was Christine! Hahahaha... :)

Anyway, we later went to the matric fair, where Sheng was v nice to get me this form that I forgot to take. Got our matric cards. Oh I saw Sandra!!! Think she's in Arts. Feel so bad that I missed her bday celeb, heh :( And SiewLee and EePei as well. Yayyy... so fun. We can hang out sometime. SL told me Karen is in biz too. I msged her. She's in the same O week group as me! Yayyy!

Looked around at some lappies. Cher and I are v keen on this Fujitsu tablet laptop thingy. Way cool. But don't know if that's practical. I can go on on the merits on the Fujitsu tablet laptop and the Toshiba lappie, but that's another entry entirely. Hmmm.... I'll check out more laptops. Then we went on to the CCA fair. Bought the Matric pack from NUSSU, where they have a lot of cool stuff. And I signed up for so many CCAs!!! Hahaha. Let's see. NUSSU Bizcom, Dance Synergy, Literary Club (heh), Original Music Club (I wanna learn drums!), AIESEC. And some more. I don't know. I'm pretty interested in NUSSU Bizcom and the Music Club.

Then went back to biz school, where Val and I were chucking all useless stuff away. Met Priscilla, who's also in Jam and Hop. Went down to rag site, and Sheryl (Sher-ryl, not Cheryl :)) and I went over to YIH to draw money. Talked quite a bit with her and got to know her better, she's a really nice girl :) Offered to get her boss to drive me home. But I had JamNHop meeting.

Meeting was alright. Janet got us to try on our tops, and Michelle says I look nice in mine. Errr... I don't know... I thought I look really skinny. Hum. Then got on with meeting. Think resolved some stuff about the special programs. Cher and I were a little tired and felt, well... that the meeting was a bit... oh well. Meeting was really short, but now I've got lots of stuff to do for JnH. Hai... Hmmm... then went home with Val and Sheng.

And the computer is fixed! That's why you guys are reading this now!!! :D:D
Sunday| I can't sleep and it ALL BECAUSE YOU WON'T STOP TORMENTING ME!

Sunday was Daer's bbq at PGPR, which is a gorgeous place, if I hadn't said so already. It rained pretty heavily early on, and Cheryl's a little upset, cause she was the one who suggested the bbq. But it subsided before8, just as Robin's predicted. So all's good.

The bbq's pretty fun, though not as fun as the one where we made Xiang eat mashed bananas, but it was alright. Hee. Quite a number of people turned up. Val, Me, Cheryl, Larry, WeiHerng, PeiLing, Jayce, WeiSheng, Sheryl, Robin, KengLeong and KaiAn. We didn't invite the year two girls. Heh. I don't think they'd come anyway, but I felt quite bad that we didn't even extend an invitation to them. Sure, they weren't the best people to hang out and have fun with, but they were part of the group. *feel guilty.

Anyhow, I was talking to WeiHerng about this card trick he taught me on Friday and then it just caught on. So they started playing these stupid guessing games, you know those kinds where it sounds baffling, had no logical pattern and just irritates the heck out of you when you don't know how to play it but the rest of the people knows? So they started playing these games. Till today I still don't know the x-1 game involving numbers. I told them if they don't tell me the solution soon I'll never get to sleep at night. They were heartless, they didn't tell me how the heck it works.

Bleah. Who gives a care anyway? (I DO! I REEEAALLY WANNA KNOW)

Yeah, so. I still have not figured it out. I am a loser. Was a fun bbq (except for the fact that I still have not figured out how the game works. *sulks)

KengLeong drove me and PeiLing home. I didn't wanna take his car actually cause well, my place is the direct opposite direction from where he and PeiLing's places were. And it's so embarrassing to take me all the way home. But since Val and co were taking KaiAn's car and Cheryl and co were taking Jayce's... I was alone if I wanted to take public transportation. Oh, and again, I forgot to point out the exit to jurong from AYE again. Heh. Pesky road signs.
Saturday | A special ice cream receipe just for you guys! Hit me with Haagen Daz, baybee!

My fam 'booked' me for dinner last saturday. :D It has gotten to a point where I had to be booked to go out with my family. I think I haven't really been spending much time with them. I actually had a a21 dinner at Simply Thai and Harry's @ Esplanade. Opted for my family dinner instead.

It just hit me how little time I've been spending with my family, eating dinner, talking about stuff. Like, I didn't know Alex's going for some live firing exercise thingy, that he's ASM for his NCC, that he got into trouble at school. He's been very busy too, what with staying back everyday for extra tutorials for math. Dad and Mum didn't talk much, they listened to what is happening in our lives.

I feel so darn guilty.

Dad brought us to The Haagen Daz parlour at Holland V where we pigged out. Heh :D:D. I got a do-it-yourself sundae. I tell you, I have the makings of an icecream chef.

Receipe for -
Chrisss' very sexy indulgence
That doesn't sound like the name of an icecream actually. More like some sort of lingerie striptease show

*1 huge scoop of Haagen Daz coffee creme ice cream
*2-3 table spoons of almond flakes
*Generous amount of chocolate sauce or hot fudge

Eat in a sexy fashion. It sounds too saucy to be true. Heh.
Monday| Ragggggggg and Dance!

Went down to school to help out with rag today. Was v fun! Was down early, and only Larry was there. He was like 'I'm surprised. Girls are seldom early' Hmpf! For that, I will stop helping to promote him to the rest of my O week girls. Hahaha... Then KengLeong came to sit with us. Larry called him 'Legend'. Huh?

Anyhow. Rag was fun. We did some lettering kind of thing. I don't know how much can I talk about rag here, since what we do is quite secretive. Hum. We even have to make sure strangers don't walk on our rag site! Heh. We'll stare them down. But it was v fun. And I love starch and papier marcheing. Hee :D

Had dance auditions for presenters. I only agreed to join it with Cheryl because I thought it's a closed door audition and I just wanted to play around, have fun, you know? I figured I wasn't getting in, so I'll just have fun and see how the audition went. WHO KNOWS. It was a open audition. So in the end, the entire rag site was there sitting down and looking at us audition. It was so embarrassing. I had ZERO dance experience. And the people there are like seasoned dancers. (Like Lynn from SA) This is just great, fantastic.

So we had to go up in pairs and Cheryl and I went together. Had to do a self expression sort of dance, then the cheorographed steps and then your own 8 beat step. Just great. Hum. I will spare you the details. I didn't get in. Cheryl did. I am happy for her, and like she said, it'd be better if we got in together. Oh well. It was fun though.

Jayce drove us girls to Scotts for dinner. Then we went home.

I slacked on Tuesday! Read David Sedaris's Me talk pretty one day

Wednesday| Rag again. A movie premier without stars. Sleeps on foreign surface

Went down to school today for Jam and Hop meeting. First ever main comm and junior comm meeting. Me and Cheryl and this guy called Lawrence is in the Special Programs committee. Val is in Publicity. Which I think is quite fun, cause err.... publicity is fun. Yuppers. I'm alright with it actually. Hum... I think BizAd JnH 2003 will be a blast!

Later went for lunch with Val, Cheryl and Janet. We went over to arts. Janet was v nice, took Val and I to the LT, because I think she could sense we had no idea where it is. Anyway, Val and I have to take the QET, which means Quesy, Ewww and Torturous. That, my friends, sums up the QET. Actually, the QET is the Qualifying English Test. I had to take it because the Cambridge examiners screwed up and gave me a lousy score for my GP. Yes, I am still bitter. Anyway, you see these people taking the QET with us and it hit me that these people are going to be in the same school as me. But they are so foreign... cause they weren't at FOC. *shrug. Anyway, the essay question is really puke inducing. Paraphrase - Modern Universities are trying to make profits as well as training their students to be innovative and creative. Which do you think should be the school's main concern?. I don't even know how the heck universities make money. Unless they were talking about Harvart Law school, who charges USD3000 for a fricking acceptance fee. Whatever.

Movie Premiers are not what I thought they were
Laterrrr, went back to the rag site, met up with Cheryl and we went over to SRC to shower and head off to ORchard. She's meeting her friend and I'm meeting Sam for this premier movie Home Run. It was a very good movie surprisingly. You know how local movies are always substandard? This is actually quite good. I shall ignore the fact that it was actually an adaptation of 'Children of Heaven'. Thought provoking. I liked it. Countary to my belief, premiers are not filled with stars walking up the red carpet, waving to photographers and disppearing into the cinema. It's nothing like that. It's just like a normal movie screening, with Jack Neo coming out to say a few words before the movie. I'm sadly disappointed and disillusioned, hahaha.

Where's the taxi named Madness?
Met up with Cher and we took a cab to eat supper with the rest of the guys. And it was one of the scariest trips of our lives. I swear. The taxi driver was super freaky. Samples of the questions he asked us were There are only 2 girls studying in medical school right? Why didn't you study medicine? There are students in NUS this year right? I was like 'Say what?' and Cheryl was just staring at him. Then he took us to this weird road, which he called '9 hooks and 13 turns'.

I swear, I didn't know roads like that ever existed in Singapore. For one, it's so curving, I can't even see where the road leads. Like, if there were a car travelling towards you, you won't know it. And it's SO DARK. And so deserted. And he drove really fast. Like it's nobody's business.

I think his ultimate motive, was to...

take the long route and charge us more.

Wahahha.

We stayed over in school. Played cards. I slept on a foreign surface. Blah. I don't mean to sound like a spoiled brat, but I don't like to sleep on foreign surfaces. It's weird. You ever get that feeling? Yeah.

They had fishing the next morning (thursday morn) and bbq at night. I didn't go. Too shagged to do anything, so I went home to sleep. I think the late nights are taking their toll on me.

Friday| Something about 2fast2furious and late late nights. Family relations.

Slacked around the house all day. Had breakfast and lunch with the parentals. It's been a long time since I had meals with them. Heck, it's been a long time since I've seen them. I was a very 'home' person, but since I started JC until Uni now, it's like I don't see them anymore. It's a change; I just don't know if it's good or bad.

Anyhow, went off at 9 to meet the Daer crew (Herng, Sheng, Val, Cheryl, Larry and Robin) for movie; we're watching 2fast2furious. While I love the colours, the hunks, the babes, and the clothing, I do not dig the plot of the movie. It's as flimsy as cling wrap. I had the 'when's this gonna end?' kind of feeling, you know? The cars, though, are a different story. I totally dig Devon's hot pink car! Is it sexy or what? I wish. I stayed in the US. I would have LOVED racing.

Then we went for supper somewhere near NUS and back to the rag site, where we worked on papier marche. Oh. And I got tricked 267 times. They were doing card games and magic tricks kind of stuff, yeah. Naturally, I could not catch half the stuff they were doing. I mean, hey, I do not spend all of my time examining magic tricks. And I do not have a cunning mind :D Heh. So it became 'Let's trick Christine' session. Yeeeah. Great huh. Anyway, we stayed till morning, went for breakfast, had loads of fun talking and I went home to sleeeepppp.

It's been ages
since I last checked in. :) Have been crazy busy and my schedule for this entire week is so crazy I swear... I'll take things slow the following week.
Whhhhhaaaaaaat's been up these couple of days? Saturday, Sunday, Monday were fuuuunnn :D:D:D

Sunday | Shopping with PS!

Went shopping with PS. Ran around Suntec and Orch to get clothes we need. Haha... she got her formal top and tshirts. And we spent soo.... much time looking for my shorts. *hugs PS. Awww. She's too nice, accompanying me all over to get the perfect cotton shorts and telling me 'Not to give up!'. In the end we found it. At Baleno. I love my cotton shorts.

Shopping with PS is too fun! A new shopping buddy!!! Hahah...

Saturday | New red Roxy sweater and Junior Committee BBQ!
Went out with Cheryl to Heeren to buy some stuff before heading to Prince George Park for the bbq. Was v fun and I found my RED HOODED SWEATER WITH MINIMAL DESIGN, LONG SLEEVES, POCKETS and keeps me warm! Hahah... peoplw who have been shopping with me recently would know that I've been looking for a sweater like mad, but never been able to find one. Found it at Flash and Splash; it has a nice roxy design, simple and very warm. Yaayyyy. Maybe I should shop with Cheryl more, haha. Had so much fun that we forgot the time and had to take a cab down to PGPR.

The BBQ was for the Jam and Hop main committee and junior comm. Was v fun, and Cher and I lost our way. Haha... but we met this Ethan-Zohn-ish guy who directed us in the correct way. Such a nice person. :) Met up with Val and the rest of the comm (too many people to name heh) and had a lot of fun.

BBQ was fun, and so were to games. Haha... Val's pole dance, Cher's really funky Work It dance. And some 'Truth' stuff that I said and I hope they didn't think I'm serious. Haha... Jand H bbq was generally very fun yeah. And I have nice eyes. *snigger. Inside joke.

Maksim Mrvica

Everyone say hi to Maksim. Piano Player. He's Croatian.

Bought his CD a couple of weeks back and I've been listening to it non stop. It's playing 24/7 in my player. And I saw his MTV last night.

What can I say. The sheer intensity, exhilaration, power of the piece 'Flight of the bumblebee' just blew me away. His fingers, running up and down the piano, just the right velocity, strength and beat. The speed of the piece, just picks you up and you find yourself in this whimsical musical journey. So much like the title. The humming of the bumblebee. The power. Watch him play... it's so mesmerizing. He has an amazing talent. Where does all these intensity come from?

My personal favourite in the CD has got to be 'Exodus'. It's beautiful, haunting and I don't know... a sense of regret in it. Sort of... I don't know. Painful, but so so haunting.

*Runs off to listen.

And I think my computer is underway for repair. Yes!!! finally!

Exotic Cars Madness

Saw this article on MSN today about exotic cars and was tempted into the photo gallery. The very first car I was drawn to was this one. BMW Z8. I guess I must be a BMW girl at heart after all. :D Lol

Then this one, which is also a BMW! :) Then this beautiful Lamborghini Murcielago and this equally nice Ferrari 360 Modena.

I'm just a ogler. I don't know much about cars actually.. haha.

Word. Christine is feeling funky, yo.

How my homies doin’?

I need to stop speaking like that.

I skipped work to hang out yesterday. Alright, actually went for O week meeting yesterday, but decided in the end that most of us would prefer Rag&Flag so we went over to Rag. But I think O week could be quite fun. Oh well. You win some, you lose some.

Later I went back to office to eat with PS, then I went out again with the OG. Yes. I’m finally getting so sick and tired of work I’m actually going to hang out instead of doing the right thang. (Thing! I mean thing! No more slangs!). So was at Bugis with WeiHerng, Val, Larry and Cheryl at Coffee Bean. Larry’s treat :) Later was joined by Robin, Jayce, Stella and a couple more seniors.

Went to play pool then at Selegie (sp?). I think not many people knows, but the reason I don’t play pool that much is because I suck at pool. Like really, lousy. It could be a straight hit thingy, you know, pocket-ball-whiteball and I cannot hit it in. Yeah. That’s how lousy I am. But, WeiHerng was my shifu! Hahah… No lah… actually he taught me and Val a little here and there about the basics. ‘It’s interesting to watch you guys play. Reminds me of how I started.’ Yeah. That’s a direct quote.

Anyway, I rule. :D I can now play pool. Cool. (I so totally did not intent for that cheesy rhyming thing)

Hmmm.. what else? Oh yeah, Cheryl introduced me to this really wonderful hair mask thingy from The Natural Source. It's gorgeous. I love it so much already. My hair feels silky! Michelle Chia look out. Hahah... I'm kidding. MC has the most gorgeous hair in the world.

ARRRRHHHHHH!!!!

Aaron messaged me last night.

Christine, I know you miss me cause you didn't see me on Sat's dinner, but do you need to send me 50 messages this morning? Hahaha

WHAT! I so totally did not send him 50 messages! Apparently those are blank messages. It must be due to the fact that I didn't lock my phone, and I had Aaron as the first in my phone book. Poor Aaron. Poorer me. I think this month's sms number would be scary. But then again, I usually use about 600-700 plus. Maybe an additional 50 won't be so bad after all. *tries not to think about the time when her smses hit 800.

Right.

Long time
Hello dearies! Sorry I haven’t been updating for such a long time! Home computer’s down and all. Bleah…. It’s still not fixed yet. Maybe this Saturday. I HAVE to get David out to go to Sim Lim with me. :( Anyway, the I had no life on the weekdays, so there was nothing much to update anyway hahah. But my Saturday, Sunday and Monday were happening-fying… :) :) :)

Satuday | Please let me live it down. Please. I am so embarrassed

What happened on Saturday… Right. I had to choose between GlassHouse Fish&Co. with the class or Marche@Heeren with the OG. I went with the OG cause, well, we’re going to the Rag bash at Milieu later together. I didn’t want to like butt in at the last moment. Would be tres weird. Right. I missed Miss Kat. Tan though!

Alright, who was there? Val, Me, Cheryl, PeiLing, YuLing, Ade, Annie, Pauline, Jayce, Robin, MingYao, Alvin, Larry, WeiSheng. I think that’s just about it. Mmm. Had a lot of fun. Hahahha… we were talking rankings? And we ranked the guys that Robin stated for us (Alvin, Steven, Kelvin and Robin. These are fake code names heh). Anyhow. I think the guys were ranking the girls too. Hahah. Had a lot of silly fun. I realized I have eccentric taste. Every girl put Jayce first except for me hahah.

Then we walked over to Milieu, but didn’t go in because it was still pretty early. So we walked over to Centrepoint to talk. And Sam called me on my cell!!!! *happyhugs :D:D. Apparently Ming saw someone with my hairstyle (hahah. I have such recognizable hairstyle?) and Sam called me. Turned around, saw Sam and screamed. Hahaha… people around me were looking at me weirdly, like I’m mad. But I was so happy to see all of them. Saw Ming, Sam, Sl, Mike, Ben, Shuhui, Pea, Fang, Yanmei, Aaron, Kings, Sandra, Joce, Pea’s bf and other ppl. Haven’t seen Ben for the longest time so was v happy to see him. And the rest! Hoho… asked them to join the Rag Party. Heh.

Anyway, later we went back into Milieu. Me, Val, Cheryl, WeiSheng, Jayce and Robin. The rest of them didn’t really wanna club. Hum. Hung out with Keng Leong and his friends a little. I think one of them was at the Open House too. Remember, Sam? I think she’ll be jealous. Hahah. She thought he was pretty nice. I have to dig out that entry. Drank a little (A LOT, relatively). I hate Bourbon Coke. Erm, danced a little. Didn’t really like the music. Blah. Keng Leong’s friend 1, I think his name is William (it starts with W) was asking me why we didn’t seem so enthusiastic about dancing. And told us that KengLeong’s friend 2 (Daniel? Damien?) likes hip hop/r&b a lot. And friend 2 was like, come, let me teach you how to dance. Hahah… I still don’t get it. Maybe I should watch some JaRule/Nelly mtvs. Heh. Cheryl and I actually went up the podium thingy to ask the DJ to play faster music. Hahaha… People thought we were going to dance up there. :D

So we left at about 1. Went over to Crown Prince Swensens. I had a Frosty Freeze! *Love sorbets. Mmmm. Stayed there until about 3 am. Then we decided to split. Nobody was staying at the west area, most of them were at the east. Jayce was taking Cheryl, Robin and WeiSheng who were heading east. And KengLeong offered to take me to somewhere nearer to my home. I think he’s staying south? WTC area. So I was thinking, alright. I don’t want to rack up astronomical cab fares anyway. Not if I’m going to the Embassy party with Sam the next Sat.

Anyhow. KengLeong drove me to WTC, where I thought there would be lots of cabs. It being WTC anyway. What do you know, I was wrong. At least, they do not have a lot of cabs at 3 am on a Saturday. What am I talking about. Heck, the entire WTC highway has NO traffic at all. Whatsoever. Zero. Nada. Zilch. So how?

KengLeong then offered to drive me home. I didn’t really want to, cause home’s about 30 mins from his place. I just feel bad about making him do the unnecessary detour. And I kept insisting he drop me somewhere else. I think at one point he turned to me and said. ‘Christine, can you listen to me?’

*Embarrassed laughter.

Anyhow. I forgot to tell him the exit off the highway, and I think he had to swerve 3 lanes to get the right exit. And I think he is usually a v safe driver.

Alright. I got to stop feeling sorry.

On to Sunday | Shopping again, naturally

After about 3 hours of sleep, I woke up again, cause I can never sleep in. Hmmm… anyway, met Sam to go to the Tampines area. Because we are western girls who’ve never went east. Hoho… Caught up with Sam on err… some stuff. Tampines was… well. Pretty okay. Bought a top from Mango and this really precious candy thingy from The Fructose Factory.

Sorry if I don’t write much about this. I was so groggy and tired the whole day, I think nothing very interesting happened. I was such a lousy friend. Lol.

A BIG welcome!

To PS, my new working buddy! Woo hoo! Yayyy...PS started work at NUS today with me, replacing Ming. Think we're gonna stay here for about 2 more weeks until school starts and we quit. Overdose of NUS, I say. Luckily I'm here in the Engine fac and not at Biz School or it'll really be an overkill. Anyway, welcome, PS!!! :D:D:D

Mmm... what else? Oh yeah, wonder if the a21 dinner thingy still on? The last one was cancelled last min, I haven't seen Ben and Yif for the longest time! So... yeah. Hope this time it works out.

And oh oh... just heard from Sha that Alexander and her are getting into Law@NUS! Wheeeee!!! We must hang out! Isn't it funny? 5 of us (Sha, Me, Alexander, Jac and JseSern) got attachmented to Drew and Napier, and now they are doing law, and I'm doing something different. I think it's not really my thing anyway, too stressful. Maybe because it's Drew and Napier, too indimidating. Anyway, we made plans to hang out. Yaayyy :D:D Oh and Jac! That girl's going to Cambridge to do law! I think I'm surrounded by geniuses, I tell you.

See, there must be something wrong with me. 3 out of 5 people who got the attachment are doing law now (I don't know what the heck happened to JS), and I'm not (good enough for) doing law!

Alright. I'm a strange little girl. My preferences switch so fast, my head's spinning off in another direction entirely. (Remember the time I taught at Cat. High? Hoho... I wanted to be a teacher, for gosh's sake)

Oh yeah, really wanted to go eat waffles at the Gelare place with Amir today. But am feeling shitty and nerdy (I'm wearing glasses!), so yeah.

Anyway, I have a huge grouse. Whhhyyyyy can't people follow signs? I'm talking about the yellow arrow thingies on the mrt platforms. See, when people on the platform refuse to give way to the people getting off the train, mrt started giving out verbal signals, like, you know 'please give way... blah'. Then people still persist to remain stupid, so the management had these lines drawn on the platform itself, so, if you say you didn't understand what was being spoken, you can interprete a sign, right? Right? And people are still stupid enough to stand right in front of the doors! Grrrahh... I swear, I'm going to pass my BTT this time and then go on to learn driving. So I don't have to squeeze on the trains with these imbeciles. Yeah, for those of you who didn't know, I failed my Basic Theory; whatever, I'm a loser. I think I have to ask for help before going to take the test again. WeiSheng says he did his BTT in 5 mins! Goodness, I took about half and hour? Bleah.

*yawn. I’m afraid this entry will be a stream-of-conscious account.

I’m back at work. Again. Grahh.. :( Anyone who ever said that they don’t mind a boring job just as long as it pays a lot IS LYING. Nothing can ever gratify a boring ass job. *yawn.

Oh, I forgot, *hugsAmir. Thanks ah :D:D Will tell all about *happy dust* incident later. Heh. Thanks Tash and Nhr dears :) *runs off to read your blogs. Mike!!! I wanna reeeaaad!!!

Guys, I’ll be doing my camp update a little later…. Am sooo…. tired and frankly, I can’t really remember what happened. I’m feeling so woozy and stuff. What’s up with me? I cannot concentrate, and I think Miss Boss knows that I’ve been slacking since I arrived late this morn. *yawn. I think. Tiredness is definitely a sign that you are (1)a lazy horrible bum-person (2)you haven’t been working out (3)you have not been sleeping well.

Speaking about point (3), I had the worst dream last night. Remember in the past I had this ‘being pinned down on the bed and not able to move’ dream? It came back again. I open my eyes, tried to move, but can’t. Struggled, tried to scream, but the voices reverberated in my mind, does not project. Weird thing is, I can see Alex standing at the door, talking to me, and I was shouting at him to help me get the force off. And he cannot hear me. And then. Silence.

Shite. Why am I having dreams like that? And it recurs. The topping point to this weirdness is that when I awake, the first thing I think about it he (not Alex) could save me. Like, you know, banish this horrible thing. :\ I think I’m going psycho. Look for me at the funny farm.

Book Club discussion starts tomorrow. But I think Anna won’t be there? I wonder what’s up, maybe I’ll email her or something. Got to jot down a few points for the discussion. (Hohoho… lit student in me kicking in). Here goes –
*By all accounts, the basis of the story is something tragic, yet it comes across as singularly controlled, callous at points, even.
*The a/b could be due to the narrative style (through Susie’s eyes)
*Interestingly, there is not much show of anger. Why?
*The entire family structure breaks down on Susie’s death. Shows the very worst of what could have happened. Is this for sensationalizing the story? Or maybe a more realistic, less ‘rose-colored-glasses’ point of view?
*Family catharsis arrives at the point of Mr. Salmon’s 2nd heart attack?

Saturday | Maksim and some other stuff

Went out on Saturday with Sam to Marche. I slept through the whole of Friday (and missed TAR! :/). Anyhoo. Went to Orchard area. Singapore’s getting really boring. There are so few places to hang out. I digress. Had not-so-hot Rosti, some drink and yummilicious mango-grapefruit sorbet. I love sorbets. I will take them over rich chocolate ice cream anytime, thank you very much. They didn’t have lasagna. :\ Bleah. Alright… the food was okay. Caught up with Sam about the camp stuff. :D Thanks v much for the 3 am call hoh! Lol. I was still quite tired then, so didn’t really catch much of the conversation… so, must tell me about Ricardo sometime ok? Heh *winks furiously

Just got Maksim’s CD. I think I’m on a classical CD buying phase. Last week I bought 2 classic CDs, the one that that’s advertised on tv? Classics forever. Bought part 1 and 2 of it. Erm, if you guys are planning on getting it as well, you might wanna try CD Rama rather than HMV or Gramophone. Anyway, I bought a CD by this incredibly talented piano player Maksim. Caught his MTV on tv and you should see his fingers fly over the piano for ‘Flight of the bumble bee’. My goodness. Pitch perfect and each key with striking precision and correct timing. To think that I was quite proud of my Etude for Scale Training from the Turkish March. :D:D This is about 200 times faster. So, go check Maksim out, everybody.

And Staind! Whoo!! I wanna get their new CD!

Oh yeah, I saw Val and KaiAn too. :D

Oops, the profs are here. Got to scurry away.
