Happier! Of Sentosa, people, and nice coincidences!

For 26/5

Gosh, if I get any happier now I might just burst out laughing now and stop about 3 days later.

Okay.

Today was Sentosa beach games trial. I had to go, cause I was vice IC for this program. I think Delvin and Yingyin were already quite pissed with me for some of the work commitments I have. By taking a day off to do this, I am not making apologies for the work I had to miss previously. I knew I have a duty to MC, FOC and FIC, but I also have to work for my allowance. I went for the games today because I really had to know what was going on, so I don’t screw up on the Beach Games itself.

So I went even when I knew I might hate it. And Val and Cher are not going, so it’s like… less allies or something.

But the day went pretty well. Right from the time I reached the bus / MRT interchange, I should say :) Guess who I saw! :D

I saw Kin! :D:D Gosh. And there I was previously, thinking maybe by some weird twist, I’d meet him today even though I’m not going for work. And there he is! :D:D I’d thought I’d seen him before that, but couldn’t be sure la… so I just walked past him. But later at the escalator, as I was going up, I looked up and it was him! :) He asked me where I was going, then I told him. I think he remembered. Then I asked him if he was going for work, and he said ‘Where else can I go?’ with a smile. (With that smile, he can go lots of places… haha.) Anyway, my train came at that time, so I had to rush.

But just seeing him like that made me so happy!

:D

:D

:D

Just so… happy!

I told Cher that no matter how shite the Sentosa trip may be, I’d be so happy from this incident, I’ll just grin madly. :D

Sentosa!

Couple of us went today – (Me, Yingyin, Delvin, Adel, Edmund, Kaili, Steve, Isabel, Kelvin, Wendy and Zhengwei) At first it was quite awkward. For me at least. I thought the year 2s were pissed at me (due to the meetings incident). But as the day went on, it got better. As in it became normal again; a couple of days ago there was a strain when we talked.

It was pretty fun. We played a couple of the games that will be played on that day. And then we went to hang out at Palawan beach. A whole group of Engine people were there, precamp, I think. Engine surprises me. They actually have a couple of guys who were quite decent looking. Ha ha… Kidding. But you know the general rep. Oh ya, we saw Wilfred also with er… I think his cousin or something.

I was trying damn hard not to get a tan! Slathered on so much of the SPF 130 sun block on my body and the Shiseido sun block on my face! Also borrowed Yingyin’s cap to wear so that I won’t get sun burnt. It worked, and I didn’t get a tan at all! :D I hate getting sun burnt skin. Horrible. I think I will go buy a cap too. *rush off to write shopping list*

Okay. Anyhow, I didn’t go eat dinner with them. Wendy’s driving back, so I took a lift from her. She’s got her own car! So envious… haha. I don’t even have a license.

My leg’s hurting now. Maybe I’ll go rest.

Of deserts, threesomes, nail polish and soup

*burst into laughter*

Sorry, I’m just so happy about what happened today. Ok. Yesterday.

Yesterday Cher and I went to this really cool café at Robertson Walk (MS area) called Ink. It’s really very cool. It’s like a place where you can hang out, chat, read and eat. I saw this girl from my Stats class there btw.

It has a really nice collection of books (chick lit among them. I’m not ashamed to say I read them!) from er… chick lit to thrillers, magazines to pet books. And the desert. Gosh. The deserts. We were in time for the afternoon special, which lets us have a desert and a pot of tea / coffee for 4.5 bucks. The deserts are gorgeous! By looks alone, I’d probably have eaten all of them! :) In the end I choose Tiramisu (in a cute little take home mug! Which I didn’t take home!) and a pot of tea. I would have also chosen the Lavender Crème Brulee / Strawberry-raspberry-pyramid-thingy / Inkpot / Chocolate mousse / Sunrise and so much more! The deserts are totally lovely.

And the owner of the café was really nice too! :)

Me and Cher shared a snack basket (basically finger food!) and Cher also had this cheesecake and choc mousse which were both heavenly. :)

We didn’t read the books there, but read Cosmo mags. Hee… I really love Cosmo. It’s a little expensive to buy it in Singapore, that’s why I don’t really get it. It’s pretty good. I need to put some of these ‘incite him’ techniques to use. Ha ha. Anyway, there was a lot of stuff about sex too. Like threesomes, which we agreed is gross and totally weird.

Later we went to meet Michelle, Weihao and Meilian for the JnH meeting at Raffles City. Went to Natural Source and saw the gorgeous nail colours for only 5.90! How can I let that go?! I’m off tomorrow to get 2 bottles! Had dinner at Soup Spoon; the mushroom soup started nice but in the end I was about to gag. Don’t know why. I’ve always liked mushroom soup.

Meeting was okie… decided the location of the bash and stuff. Think there was some friction between some of them. Er… I’m staying out of it.

Small things make me happy. :D

Like the 5 minutes at the café on Sunday.

Gosh. I just am too easily pleased aren’t I.

Anyway, I am please to say that I have really enjoyed my weekend working at Capitol Optical at Causeway Point. The staff there are so friendly! So totally unlike NanYUCK Optical. So totally different and so much more amicable. I made a new friend, Jialing, who is a promoter for AMO (Complete Multipurpose Solution – which is very good by the way. I am using it). Also friends were the people at Capitol Optical, Don, Bryan and Derrick (also Edward?), and also another J&J promoter, Roy who’s Jialing’s friend. What a great weekend. I started off badly (FOC), but the overall weekend was just fantastic.

Even the 2 drawbacks didn’t make me too upset -
1) The big B&L road show just across the atrium
2) The optometrist at Capitol being on leave
Which technically speaking, kills off probably any sale I could have made over the weekend. I still continued doing the promotion though; it’ll be pretty boring if all I did was just stand there and accept my fate ya? Besides, I like talking to people… haha. Surprisingly, overall, I got about 20-Surprisingly, overall, I got about 15-20 people who are interested and about 10 plus people who I had to ask to come back another day cause they can’t test their eyes today. (Some went over to the b&l counter, which is understandable, but disheartening)

Ai… just so happy! I can’t wait till Thursday!

Anyhow, yesterday, I went over to the café to take my schedule during break time. And I was quite surprised to see only Doreen there. On a weekend, no less! And er… I was pretty surprised to see no one else there. If you get what I mean. Anyhow, I just casually asked Doreen why there are so little people here. She said there’s another girl inside –Ashley, I think. And that Kin was out buying some stuff. Haha… so I was thinking maybe if I hung around long enough... well… haha. So I was waiting for the fax machine to copy a sheet of the schedule when I realized that no one was at the counter, so I just took over, since I’m free and all.

And when I was at the counter talking to this customer, I saw him! :D:D

It just made me smile. I was so happy.

For some people, I just smile and feel happy when I look at them. He’s one of them.

He was quite surprised to see me there (Obviously since I wasn’t on duty). And yes. That’s it. Yes. But I’m still so darned happy that I saw him yesterday ?

Eeks. I can’t believe I’m so sappy.

Easily recognizable? :D:D

Okay, also, the guy at Capitol Optical recognized me! I went there to buy eye drops about 4 days ago cause of the irritation. (I think I talked about it in the previous posts – Eastchamp remember?) I forgot to add that I went over to Capitol to buy my eye drops. Then when I went back for the Acuvue thing on Sunday, this guy who was attending to me when I went to buy the eye drops (with my red eyes) asked me – ‘You came here to buy eye drops before right?’ Ha ha! I can’t believe he remembered me! :D It’s so nice of him. Anyhow, Jialing was like ‘Huh? How come you can remember?’ Then he was like ‘Oh… pretty girl mah.’ Ha ha… See what I mean? The people there are so joke-y and nice. (Unlike nanyuck optical)

Like that time when the Mandarin Hotel guy recognized me by my voice on the phone! :) I kind of like to think of that as a compliment :D.

FICing

Today I did FIC with the MC people. 0830 hrs at Payar Lebar MRT!! Larry must be very sadistic. Haha... It was my first FIC outing so I was a little lost. I was teamed up with Steve at one of the Payar Lebar industrial estates. I didn't get to do much, basically just watched Steve ask the people for donations and how he went about doing it. And he didn't let me try out asking at all! Ha ha... so mean. Later we went to some auto garages... which isn't better. All in all, the morning takings are quite bad.

Later we had a 1 half hour lunch. Which is always good beacuse it means we can slack. I think even the most seasoned of flaggers loved this 1 half hour.

Later we went back and did this industrial estate at Aljunied/Geylang (Not sure where. I'm totally lost in the East) and Larry put me and ZW in a team. Evil larry made this stupid joke about walking in the rain. Okie. Anyhow, us and Wendy and Derrick had to do this block, which looked really dead from the outside. Seriously. I was like 'You mean there are people in there?!'

Turns out there are, and ZW is damn good at this fundraising flag thing! I mean, he can probably keep talking and persuading someone until they donate. I mean, he's just damn good at it. Anyway, I didn't get to talk much too; I mean, ZW did ask me if I wanted to speak, and I did a couple of times, but since he's so much better, I just let him talk while I stood back and smiled. Haha.

Anyway, there was this guy who was very nice (kept asking us to take a seat), and he's pretty cute as well. Not bad. Heh. And this really nice man who joked a little with us - 'one advice - do not disobey the government intentionally' Heh.

Okay, shall stop here cause I want to surf the net now. Haha.

Happy!!!

I had the lousiest start to the day.

Firstly, I got my Sem 2’s result from the net. And it’s crap. Surprisingly though, I got an A for film art. I know I’ve been planning an A for it, but after that paper, I figured I needed at least an A+ to balance out the A- I got for midterms. And I thought I screwed up the last paper. Glad to see I got A for that. Only A… I’m quite disappointed that I only had 1 A. Oh well. I was also happy that I didn’t have to retake stats. I am not happy for MS, and M&O. Especially M&O. I wanted to get A for that. MA was okay, I guess.

And then Adecco called and said they wanted to place me at Causeway Point again for this weekend’s promotion. The same optical shop as well! (i.e Nanyang Optical) Ugh ugh ugh.

Ugh.

So it was a horrible start to the day.

But I thought about work and I was instantly happier. I haven’t wrote about last Tuesday yet. (See +++)

+++ Tuesday recap
The gist is that I was initially a little sad that I wasn’t going to be at Queenstown anymore. Moon was really fun to hang out with at the QT outlet, so I was a little upset leaving there. Moreover, Woodlands wasn’t going to be under Doreen anymore, it’s under a new manager called Kin. So I was a little sian, if you get what I mean. Then I was late on Tuesday. Something got into my lenses so I had to get to Causeway Point to buy some solution to wash the lenses. And I most certainly wasn’t going to go to Nanyang Optical, so I went to EastChamp Optical. The lady was really nice. She offered to let me wash the lenses for free. She was really nice about it, so I tried to buy something, you know. But she didn’t have any eye drops or such, so I didn’t buy anything. So I have to give them some sort of advertising here. Haha.. EastChamp Optical at Causeway Point is a great shop! Go there, go there!

And I got to the café late. And I was looking for the manager (cause it’s not Doreen anymore, I felt a little disorientated). Then I saw this guy at the counter… who frankly was a little geeky (but I’m sure he’s very nice). And I was like ‘This can’t be him?!’ It’s not, he pointed me in to someone inside who was the manager. And then he came out.

And boy was he cute.

Haha… I mean. Seriously. He’s really cute. He’s not conventionally good looking, but gosh there is something when he smiles. Gosh. He’s really really cute. There’s just this.. charm about him. Also, I think there is something very sexy about people who really look at you when they talk to you. Er, I’m not trying to implicitly say something. I’m just saying.

Yeah. You know me. That made me clam up like immediately. I do not make stupid comments, but I do not make witty comments either. I just clam up like some very boring person. So I was at the kitchen wiping my eyes cause the irritant didn’t really go off. Then he came in and saw me do that, and asked me a really funny question ‘Are you crying?’ Haha… I thought that was quite erm… sweet? I mean, no one has ever asked me that before! Okay, I’m a fibber. People have asked me that before. But it was still very nice. And they certainly didn’t have that very nice voice to match. Ha ha.

And then when I was supposed to leave (Doreen had to remind me), he was like ‘Oh you can stay if you want.’ So I was like ‘Ha ha… okay, if the crowd at night is not a lot.’ And he was like ‘It’s not a lot really. If you want to stay you can’. I didn’t stay in the end. Even though I wanted to. Heh. Anyway, I wandered around in the library a little after that. When I left, I saw him again at the entrance.

Gosh, just writing all these again made me very happy.

Anyway, something totally stupid I’ve done was too look out for signs of attachment. I.e. rings etc. Haha. I didn’t see any.

Anyway, it was not a very eventful day aside from that (I know… how boring I am).

Okay, there was something, but that’s another thing which I will talk about in another entry. This one will be for K! :) :D
+++

Yup, so that was Tuesday recap. Now that I’ve recapped Tuesday, today’s entry might seem more coherent. Not that I’ve always been known for coherence. Still.

Tuesday’s entry will explain why I am happier and looking forward to work.

Anyway, when I got there (late), K was already there, and er… looking at little dispassionate? I don’t know… that was the first word that popped into mind. So I naturally thought he was pissed that I was late (which is perfectly reasonable, and I still think he is. I would be pissed at me) Then I realized that Douglas and some guy was there. Making a spot check no doubt. And I was even more sian. Luckily I didn’t go to Zouk with the guys last night. Would have been so glazed and blurry I don’t think I’ll be in working condition.

Anyway.

I thought this will further be a quite shite day. Then Val and WeiHerng came to visit me!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy to see them. Actually, Weiherng already told me he might drop by and visit me, but Val also! So happy to see them both! And so touched. Actually whenever any of my friends drop by, I’ll feel damn happy. Like WeiJun and SiewLee at the house of hell (oops, nanyang optical) last weekend. Gosh, can’t tell you how happy I was. Anyway, they came, sat for a while. I couldn’t talk to them… the bosses are just in front there, so I did work. Managed to talk a little here and there which working. Which brings me to the point that if I were working at Queenstown, I’d definitely be able to talk to them. Moon’s very nice that way. :D Hm… come to think of it, anywhere where the bosses are, we probably can’t slack. Bleag.

Anyway, the whole day’s pretty uneventful. Maybe save for the time when the nice auntie called me ‘xiao mei mei’ translate ‘little girl’. Then he laughed and was like ‘you called her a little girl?’ and then he asked me how old I was. Normally, if I were a normal person, I’d ask the same question back. But when I’m besotted, I normally don’t do much other than laugh and nod. Heh.

Oh no… what if he thought I was just a stupid non intelligent person who can’t even carry a conversation? How? How?

Okay. Remember on Tuesday, I was looking out for a ring? Haha… I got my answer today. Sort of. I was about to leave, when he gestured me over. And he was talking on the phone at the same time. He wanted me to sign some stuff. So I went over beside him, and I overhead his conversation on the phone. I mean, not eavesdropping or anything. And he was saying he didn’t have a girlfriend! Ha ha! I can’t believe it. Like, someone knew that I had a question and I got my answer pretty promptly. Heh. I was happy to hear that. Naturally. :D:D

Ok la, I got to go off for a while now. May continue this entry if I feel like it. Ho ho.

Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god.

Someone please help me. I think I'm in deep trouble.

Okie, an update on Mr. China Black

When I woke up on Thursday morning after returning home at 5 from clubbing the night before, I had 6 missed calls and 3 messages. The 6 calls were from the same number. I was still a little blurry from the night before, so I just lay back and went back to sleep. But I felt a little uneasy - what if that was a fantastic job offer or something? So I called back.

It turned out to be ChinaBlack guy. Seriously, his accent is even more blurred on the phone. Half of the time I had no idea what he's saying, the other half, I'm like 'sorry? Can you repeat that?'. Don't get me wrong, he has a nice voice but most of the time I can't decipher what he's saying on first go.

Up till today, I thought his name was Alfred. For some reason. (Incidentally, I kind of dislike that name. Not that I dislike him or anything)

This is a brief transcript -

Him - So I use to see you at the Terrace
Me - Er... I don't often go to the Terrace
Him - Yes you do.. I've seen you there a couple of times...
Me - *smses Val : 'Hey ask you a stupid question. Is Biz canteen the Terrace or Deck?'*Val : 'Why you ask such a cute question? Haha.. it's Terrace
Me -

*** Wait. There are new developments.

Arghahahgahg.

*This post was for 15/5. First Day of work at the Acuvue job.

My feet hurt. My legs hurt. I stood for 8 hours at work on Friday (at the café) and for another 8 hours today. Of course, before that I’ve been working 8 hours the days before and been out clubbing. So I’m really pooped right now.

And tomorrow, I have to be at Hougang by 0830 hrs tomorrow and another 8 hours of work again. Standing, walking. Aghghhghghahg. Just thinking of it seems scary. Eek.

Anyway, first day at the Acuvue job. I was stationed Nanyang Optical at Causeway Point. Which is good cause it was Causeway Point or Ang Mo Kio *scoff* Guess which I choose.

So when I got there, I got to realise that the people at the shop were not very friendly. I mean the shop assistants – Skinny, Pregnant and Guy. Skinny is absolutely unpleasant and unlikable. The other guy is erm, normal, I guess, so I called him Guy. And then there is a Pregnant. Now, for this lady, I will not pass any comments. Because mothers are always deemed to be noble (and I agree), so I might be flamed for any bad comments for this pregnant lady. Anyway, there must be a reason why she is so unfriendly right. Maybe because I am wearing low riding jeans. Ha ha.

Anyhoo, I’ve came to several unpleasant conclusions about people in general –

1) Cute guys never take flyers because they are too cool for that. (screw them)

2) On the surface, some people appear to be able to see and hear. Truth is, they are actually blind and deaf! They can’t see or hear you! How else do you explain the fact that they walk right pass you without emotion even when you approach them? Even if there is a pit of fire in front of them, I bet they will ignore me and walk on. (Actually I hope they do, bastards). Yes, I am very bitter. Want me to tell you what I really feel?

3) Some girls think I’m out to snatch their boyfriends. Please do me a favour and look at your boyfriend, then consider if I’m out to snatch them.

4) Some boyfriends think I’m out to snatch them from their girlfriends. Please do me a favour and look at yourself in the mirror then consider if I’m flirting with you.

5) Some boyfriends are just slaves of girlfriends when it comes to taking flyers.

6) Some people think I want to give flyers to them, so they avoid me. Truth is, while I do want to pass them flyers, their actions disgusts me so much, I don’t even bother.

7) Some people are just goddamn ugly (in actions. I do not care so much for looks, but if you have ugly behavior, you are just all round ugly)

However, there are still some things that cheered me up.

1) Some couples are actually very nice. :D There is this young Malay couple. I was actually a little thoughtless, cause they were holding hands, but I still shoved a flyer at them. The girl let go of the guy’s hand to let him have a free hand to take the flyer. Another girl took the flyer and then stopped to talk to me about it. And then when the boyfriend started talking to me as well, there was absolutely no malice or anything coming from that girl. I mean, she didn’t like think that I was out to snatch her bf or anything. Now that’s a well adjusted couple. (Not like the many dysfunctional-she-wants-to-steal-my-bf girls)

2) Some people are really friendly. Even when they look fierce. There was this girl who came in with her sister. And I was like ‘Oh gosh, I know I’m supposed to do my job, but she just looks damn fierce’. Actually she is the kind of girl I’ve always been secretly afraid of. The confident no nonsense look. Then she came over with her sis to ask me about the lenses and she was so friendly! I can hardly believe that I thought she was scary. :D And this really funky lady who talked to me also… very nice.

3) Friends rock. Siew Lee came down with her very pretty cousin en route home from JP to visit me :D:D and we talked la… naturally. That lucky girl got a job through the net! Haha… So lucky! And I saw Pearl, and we talked too. She carries a funky LV bag, you know, the new design, light cream with colourful LV logos. And a huge gold Dior chain, both courtesy of her bf. I am so envious. Anyway, it seems like she’s interested in getting lenses but will have to talk to her parentals first! She promised to get them from me… *yay! Also, she has a dream job (Haha…) doing PacNet promotion and promised to ask me if they need people. *DoubleYay!

4) Act of kindness. When Guy asked me if I wanted lunch. Which isn’t much, but since the rest are so unfriendly, that act in itself was very much appreciated.

Yup so that’s about it. I can’t wait for tomorrow.

Ha ha!

Yeah right.

Work! Yay!

*This post was for my first day at the Cafe, which is about 2 weeks ago :D

Anyway, for those of you who knew, I’ve been working at Café Galilee for a couple of weeks now. My first day was at the Woodlands branch. I worked with Doreen, Sue and Mavis. (As you can see, I’m writing down all their names, so in 20 years time, I’ll still remember it. It’s like a little general knowledge. Or something)

Anyhow, Cher had called me the night before to tell me that she’d quit, cause the pay was too low, as compared to her other job. Which is quite true. 4 bucks is actually quite pathetic. But I thought I’d try out, besides, 4 bucks is for the training period, which I thought was quite reasonable) Still, I was a little ‘xian’ when I was going there. I had thought to work a few days, then quit. In case you didn’t notice already, I’m kind of weak willed in that sense.

So I got there and started work.

And loved it.

Absolutely.

I mean, it’s so damn fun! Granted, it’s not all glamorous like Rachael at the Central Perk or what other glam café job just this still so fun! I get to make smoothies, coffee, milk shake and what not. (Shite. The horrible Milk Shake song reverberates in my head ‘My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, and they’re like, it’s better than yours…’ Damn you, Kelis and your milkshake!)

Anyhow, I had fun hanging out (during the informal break times) with the people there. Turns out that one of them knew Cher. I talked a bit with Mavis too, and she’s really cool. Apparently she wants to watch ‘Elephant’ too! Cool. We made plans (but it fell through cause I already had plans with Sam).

*Anyway, Jump Around by House of Pain is playing in the bg now. I love that song. Makes me so happy. I love ‘anyone stepping on me, you’ll get burnt’*

Hm, so that was first day. So happy.

Ladies' Night aka Funny guys

Whee! I had fun! Really! I'm not being sarcastic! So many exclamation marks!

I'm being totally crappy again. I just got home at 5 last night, woke up at 11 and have been out for the whole day. Later, I had to finish up a logistic proposal, fine tune another proposal, and read 47 emails about work.

Of course I procrasinated. What did you expect? :p

Anyhow, after work at the Cafe yesterday, I met up with Cher to club. I was too poor so we decided to do Ladies' Night at Devil's Bar. Which was a great idea to save money bar the fact that -

1) I hated my white tube top, so I went and bought another top while waiting for Cher
2) I drank at coffee bean's when I could have saved money by drinking something cheaper. Like tap water for instance.
3) I forgot that I had to take a cab back and it's 1.5 the normal fare
4) Bloody Devil's Bar and China Black charge for lockers.

So in the end I still spent quite a bit. More than what I earned during my shift at the cafe. So. There.

Anyway, we were at Devil's Bar first, and while that place was packed, it wasn't exciting. Like, the guys were blah. The music was blah and the girls were weird. There was this weird-dancer-woman-wearing-a-dress and was standing on the bar top, dancing as if she has spasms or fits. I'm not kidding. And the stranger thing is that everyone was 'mesmerized' by her dancing. It's like watching a car accident. It's horrid, but you can't take your eyes off [s]it[/s] her. Cher said the two very cute guys who were standing behind us were staring at her. In a sick, fascinated way, no doubt. And so I'm baffled.

So we headed to China Black, but left our stuff in the locker at Devil's Bar cause we were lazy. Then when we got there, I realised that I forgot to take my ID, so wasn't allowed entry. Now, I'd like to think of this in a good way. It's better to look young than to look old. So we went back again.

Then we needed to use the washroom, so we stopped over at Wheelock Place. And while the washroom's still open, the lights were out! It's damn scary, I tell you. Totally reminiscent of Fright Night. Eek. I shall stop before I scare myself.

So later, we got back to China Black, ID in tow. When we got there, there were loads of people! It's damn happening there, I tell you.

Then there is this guy who approached me. The pointed to his friend behind him and said 'Hi, can I introduce my friend to you?'. That was such a weird opening line I thought. Then I was like, okay, but I need to but my bag at the locker so I walked away. The 'friend' followed me. We talked a little while in the queue. Apparently he had seen me around in the Terrace and had noticed me. I was a little skeptical, to say the truth. I'm always skeptical. Anyway, I was in a careless mood so I gave him my number. Also because he's quite tall and nicely build. Ha ha.

Anyway, I casually asked him how many girls have he taken numbers from. Apparently, this caused him to be very impressed with me (Huh?!) and as a form of I don't know what, he erased my number and tried to remember it by heart.

I looked at Cheryl. And gave her a 'I think this guy is weird' look. Cher totally misintepreted and moved forward in the queue with my bag and left me standing there stupidly.

So I say 'Okie, cya around!'. And hurried forward. Cher gave me a conspiring grin. Haha.

Anyway, later we danced, and this guy danced with Cher. Pretty cute and tall. Pity he's younger though. So I was left dancing stupidly on my own. Hm. Cher immediately told the guy that she couldn't leave me dancing alone. So guess what he did. He brought us to his friends, and told them to come one by one so I could choose who I wanted to dance with! OMG! It was so funny and strange for me. I didn't know what to do. I just gestured weakly.

In the end, Cher, Luke (the guy) and I danced together. He was pretty nice about it, I mean, that I kept intruding into their twosome. Tho Cher was like 'He's the intruder!'. But he's really really nice. We had fun dancing.

Then in the middle of it. Guess what happened. The guy came back again! Apparently he can't remember my number so he asked if I could give it to him again. So weird eh.

Anyhow, Luke was nice enough to send me and Cher back (to the cabs.. haha). He actually watched us get into the cabs before he left. That was pretty nice. I mean, he didn't have to give a damn about me. Maybe he wants to impress Cher. Haha..

When I got home

I slept at 430. Dad woke me up at 5 and asked me to blowdry my hair before letting me sleep. Grrr.

Law Bash @ SOS aka I hate losers aka I'm feeling mean.

Was on 8th May.

What a totally redundant sentence.

Anywayyy, I don't know if it was a success or not, but it was pretty packed. And it has an unusually large number of cute guys.

No, I'm not shallow or superficial. It does have quite a bit of above average guys, more than the usual bashes and more than normal clubbing places save Zouk. Which only leads me to one question.

What does UNICEF mean?

Ha ha! I'm kidding, of course. As you can see, I'm in a very crappy mood. Actually I'm just filling for time, waiting for my room to be cold enough to go in, air conditioner seems to be quite screwed. Anyway, as I was saying, the question is 'Why are there so many above average guys in *this* bash?'

Not that I'm interested in the answers, but do sign me up for other law bashes in future.

Anyhow, don't you just hate Nerds (incidentally, with a capital N). This couple of guys who were dancing near me, Sam and Yushan started talking to me and asked if they can join us. So I told them - 'There's a lot of space there *gesture to some place*. You can go there'. Yeah I'm damn mean. So what. :p

Anyway, that doesn't seem to pummel straight into their brains, so they come again. This time, they decided to go high tech and showed me a message on their handphones. 'Can my friend make friends with U?'

Have I told you how much I hate lingo? People who type 'U' in place of 'you' should have their faces put on a porcupine, in my opinion.
(Incidentally, the 'u' with the two dots above is acceptable because
1)it's cute
2)I use it on a regular basis)

Anyhow, I told them 'no' again.

Then this guy from school T met Sam and recognised her. I thought T was damn cute. Heh. Anyway, I talked to T a little. Like really little. Maybe 2 words. Yeah. Then the Nerds strike again. This time, they used the handphone method again. And says - 'Can I have your number?'

Ha ha!

Ha ha ha ha ha!

Me - 'Are you out of your minds?'

No la, I wasn't that mean. But I told them that I don't give numbers. Which is quite true. I don't give it to people I don't want to. Then the guy beside me was like 'He asked you for your number?'. And I was like 'Yes' and he laughed. Whooped, really. I hope he wasn't laughing at me, but at the Nerd instead. But. Whatever.

Anyhow, the night ended fun. And no, I wasn't drunk. So yay me. :D

New Interface

While it's interesting and neater, it's kind of hard to get used to.

Hitchcock Films

Anyway, I've been buying (and acquiring) a couple of films lately. I've got Notorious, SpellBound and North By Northwest. All Hitchcock films. I can't wait to watch them. Also, I've got Ashes of Time, a brilliant Wong Kar Wai film and The Road Home, which features Zhang Ziyi in her debut film by Zhang Yi Mou.

From Sam the pirate... (haha) I got 50 first dates, Finding Nemo, Pirates of the Carribbean (how ironic :D) and Big Fish.

Can't wait to start watching!

Coffee Lingo

I'm now studiously reading up on Coffee, it's lingo and the different types of coffee. Working in a cafe is so much easier if you actually know what the hell is a Café Au lait.

Replies :D

Stranger - Hope it went well for you :)
Clint - What a coincidence! You should check out Amir's writings, he's a really good and funny blogger :)
Keisha - Thank you! I can't take credit for my layout, I got it from somewhere... :) I liked your layout too, you must have done the pictures yourself? I agree, I wonder where Sam Brown gets his inspiration from, some of his ideas are so different and unconventional.

California Fitness Gym

I promised I would write about my experience there.

Okay, so I went there last last Tuesday with Cheryl to sign up for this 20 bucks for 6 weeks gym sessions thing. It is a pretty good deal considering 1) It lets us trial use the equipment 2) We can go for the classes and 3) We are poor.

So we went in and filled in some form thing. You know the thing about California Fitness Gym. Everybody there are so darn goodlooking, healthy, happy etc. So for a while, it was a little unnerving. We saw Michelle there too, so we were saying all of us could go to the gym together.

Okay, so we signed up right, then this girl came and said she will be the Advisor/Consultant. Okay.. so she talked to us (and collected some quotes that she will use to incriminate us later. A lawyer's not as scary) and then took us on a tour of the gym, which I must admit is very nice. They have dance classes too, and that's a huge plus. Then the girl took us to measure our body fat. I didn't know what procedure that was. I thought it was a whole body measurement thing, you know, so the first thing I thought of were my thighs. And when she sent us over to this guy to measure the body fat thing, I was freaking. I mean, you don't want a guy to measure how much body fat you have, especially on your thighs!

But it turned out that he was only measuring upper body, and if you guys know me, I'm quite alright for upper body. I have almost no fat on my back. So my body fat was 25%, the recommended (what you will attain if you work out) is 24% so I was feeling pretty good. :D

So later when we came down again, she tried pushing this membership on us. She first showed us the 700 plus bucks one, and Cheryl and I were like 'This woman is freaking mad'. After that, she slowly lowered the prices, with manager's specials, cancelling enrollment fees, less monthly fees etc. And in the end, it was 216 bucks. We still didn't sign up in the end, so she used what we said in the beginning to egg us on. 'Oh so you don't want to seriously join the gym after all, I mean, you are not serious about working out at all' etc etc. It seriously pissed the hell out of me. I mean, if I didn't want to join, it's my business. I didn't ask for the membership, I didn't ask for you to spend so much time on us, I didn't ask you to pretend to raise the prices to 700 bucks, just to lower it down again to show us what a 'deal' we are getting. I study Business, so I know what technique is that. It gives us a false sense of belief that we are getting a deal when in actual fact, the normal price wasn't even 700 bucks. Only stupid people pay that.

So in the end (Cher almost signed up), we didn't do it. And when I left, I was so pissed with that consultant whatever that I so feel like putting her face on a porcupine. Ugh.

Some other updates for myself so I don't forget

I've signed up for some Student Mentor Program. :D

I've got 5 job offers... erm.. yes. I've chosen the 2 that interests me the most. And that's waitressing (at a cafe) and being an Acuvue promoter. I've turned down the office jobs cause it bores me to no end. That's why even the pay for waitressing sucks, and the promoter job is not easy, I think it's fun that's why I'm going for it. :D

I've watched '50 first dates' with Sam and it's damn funny. I particularly liked the part where the Dad and Brother had to clear up every night. Haha...

I did not go for night cycling as I will miss Survivor (It was the Shii Ann tirade episode). What a nerd I am.

Okay

So here's the short update that I promised. About my exams. Not going to be very exciting or even remotely interesting but what the heck.

Management and Organisation - Is alright. Thanks to the cheat sheet I photocopied off SiewLee. Heh. Open book exam but I spend all my time bent over the table scribbling so I had no time to open the textbook anyway. I knew the SouthWest Airlines thing was going to come out, in some form or another... with all the ValuAir (which I dislike) and AirAsia thing. Bleag.

Management Science - What can I say? The only question in the supplementary exercise which I cannot do, didn't want to solve and didn't want to think about... came out in the exam! What the heck?! What are the odds? Even the names remained the same! Was discussing the questions with the Zylon girls (ie Coreen and Grace) later and found out that another one of the tougher questions I got the reasoning correct, but as per usual, I didn't write it down cause I thought it was going to be useless anyway. Double Bleag.

Statistics - Don't even get me started on this. Who has a cheat sheet and forgets to write important formulas on it?!

*yay!*Film Art *yay!* - Was alright. I didn't want to go collect my term paper before I took the exams. Just in case I got a crummy result, I didn't want it to affect my paper. Studied with Natalie and it was quite productive, lots of ideas and pretty good analyses. And Chungking Express came out again! What?! It came out last year as well... so I conclude Gilbert Yeo is a Wong Kar Wai fan maybe. Oh yes, I did the optional question for 'In the Mood for Love'.. which probably not a good idea, given that Gilbert Yeo is a huge fan of ITMFL and I think I've screwed up that essay. I didn't want to do Rashomon, I did not have enough information for 12 Storeys and I didn't finish watching Dancer in the Dark and Breaking the Waves. So ITMFL was the only choice. I was mistaken into thinking it'll be easy cause I did ITMFL for my term paper, but this is a totally new topic and by Gilbert Yeo's admission, ITMFL is the hardest movie in the whole syllabus. Oh well.

My term paper was an A- by the way. :D

Managerial Accounting - Was not bad. But I couldn't believe I studied so much for CVP analysis and Zhengwei came and told me it wasn't important?! And Variance was important! I've lost 17 marks on Variance, but the rest I think was pretty okay. (And I didn't see cute tall guy :/)
